Profile

From an obscure genesis as a humble academic support unit of the university, the Computer Center evolved into what is now considered to be the most promising department in Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF).

The College of Computer Studies (CCS) has been recently included in the elite list of 40 higher education institutions in the country, having been identified by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as one of the Centers of Development (COD) in Information Technology as per CMO No. 32 s. 2007. At present, CCS is the only academic department in the University with this exemplary distinction.

Likewise, the CHED as per Commission en-banc (CEB) Resolution No. 90 s. 2008 has recently approved the inclusion of the CCS-MSEUF as one of the Delivering Higher Education Institutions (DHEI) for the Higher Education Development Project – Faculty Development Program (HEDP-FDP) in Master in Information Technology (MIT). This made CCS-MSEUF as the second IT school in Region IV (next to UP-Los Baños) and 1 of the only 14 HEIs in the country deputized by the CHED as DHEI for IT related graduate programs.

Furthermore, to date, CCS-MSEUF is the ONLY HEI in Southern Tagalog with PACUCOA Level II 1st Re-accredited Computer Science program; one of the few HEIs in the country deputized by the CHED to implement the Expanded Tertiary Education and Equivalency Accreditation Program (ETEEAP); and the ONLY school in Quezon Province recognized by the CHED to offer Master in Information Technology (MIT) graduate program. It is also one of the few HEIs in Region IV integrating Cisco Networking Academy in all IT courses.

While Dean Farley Abrigo is currently the National Chapter Vice President of the Philippine Society of IT Educators (PSITE); the Charter President of the Council of Deans for IT Educators in Calabarzon; and also the Charter President of PSITE Region IV Chapter.

These distinctions and recognitions stand as a valid testament that its various programs of studies are relevant to the needs of the community and society it serves. The College of Computer Studies produces highly employable and competitive professionals in the IT industry here and abroad. We serve as the gateway to the borderless global community, where the possibilities are infinite.
