The College of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Management of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation bagged 3 bronze medals and other recognitions in the 2011 National Food Showdown with the theme, “Taking the Lead to be the Best” held Sept. 17-18 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

On its 5th year, the National Food Showdown is one of the country’s most celebrated and prestigious culinary competitions attracting hundreds of participants from various culinary schools, universities and food-related businesses around the country.

Igi Gajo got a Diploma of Excellence n the Master Cocktail Mixing category and Jean de Guzman and Chef Zemir Herrera under the Apprentice category (student-coach category) also won the same recognition.

Teammates Ruvielyn Aying and Tach Mae Nuñez won bronze medals in Plated Dessert category while Mico Irvin Sadili and John Reyben D. Ravanzo also reaped bronze medals in Petit Four/Pralines and Filipino Carver categories respectively.

The event was launched in partnership with ABS-CBN's Cable Print and Media Group and the Lifestyle Network.
