The College of Education retained its championship in the regional quiz bee of the Philippine Association for Teacher Education (PAFTE) held at the University of Batangas Sept. 30.

The team composed of Ma. Dreza R. Simbahan, Art Angelo A. Enelo and Ferdinand L. Rellorosa bested 32 teams in the three-part series: easy, average, difficult rounds. Second place was Harris Memorial College, third place Batangas State University and fourth place MSEUF-Candelaria.

The coaching team is as follows: Divinia J. Glifonea for teaching profession, social dimension of education and child and adolescent track, Shielamarie E. Arce for assessment of student learning 1 and 2 track, Josephine L. Belen for principles of teaching 1 and 2 track, and Jessica S. Mayani for educational technology 1 and 2 track.

Dean Joselina T. Baylongo said the team’s victory is an indicator of the University’s thrust towards teacher education training excellence following the National Competency-Based Teacher Standards (NCBTS).
